to attract Nominations from, and for, companies and individuals
whose efforts have made a significant contribution to professional
excellence over the last twelve months.

Best Use of Technical Innovation
This category covers any electrotechnical
product which shows genuine and "out of the ordinary" innovation
in thinking, approach, design and execution in its technical
aspects, as compared with its perceived closest competitors
in the market. It is important to note that this category
can include simple products that show design novelty. High-tech
complexity is not necessarily the criterion here.

Best Use
of High Technology
Entries for this award should exhibit
the latest in technology in their design and manufacture.
Product innovation is not necessarily the key here: technological
content and the way in which it is used, is the most important
aspect. We shall be looking for a high design content, careful
use of the most modern materials and compliance with the standards.
The electronics content may be high, but is not a criterion
for success.

Contribution
towards energy saving
The category covers any electrotechnical
product that has been designed either from the outset save
energy as a primary function, or that has energy saving as
an important by-product. The energy saved need not be in the
product entered itself. It may also be as a result of the
way the entered product interacts with any equipment being
controlled or driven by it.

Contribution towards safety
This category covers any electrotechnical
product that has been designed either to increase the safety
of personnel operating a system of which the product is a
part, or is in itself an intrinsically safer device for operators
and users than competitive products.

|
Most interesting new product
Entries should be any electrotechnical
product that demonstrates intrinsic interest in terms newness
the market or opening up new market areas, bearing in mind
novelty in application.
